Cooking Cookies For You and Your Dog!

Eating healthy is definitely the way to go for both you and your dog! Having well balanced diets consisting of whole natural unprocessed foods makes you feel energized, focused, and internally good. It prevents diseases and can even help heal. But eating healthy doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a delicious treat here and there. But if you are going to indulge in a guilty pleasure why not make it a yummy healthy one!

Cookies For Your Dog: Peanut Butter Crunch Cookies:


2 cups of whole wheat flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 cup all natural peanut butter
1 cup Skim milk

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
2. In a bowl combine flour and baking powder
3. In a second bowl combine peanut butter (melting it makes it easier) and milk
4. Add wet mixture to dry and mix well
5. Lightly flour your counter and then knead dough out on it
6. Roll out until it is 1/4 inch thick
7. Cut into squares or make fun shapes with cookie cutters
8. Place on a greased baking sheet and back for 20 minutes until lightly brown
9. Cool on a rack and store in an air tight container

Cookies For You: Double Chocolate Cookies:

1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil, melted
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup canned lite coconut milk
1/3 cup coconut flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all natural cocoa powder
1/4 cup dark chocolate morsels (or nuts, or dried cranberries)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
2. Lightly oil baking sheet
3. Combine coconut oil, applesauce, maple syrup, and coconut milk in a bowl; mix well and set aside
4. Combine coconut flour, whole wheat flower and cocoa powder by sifting into a small bowl. Mix well
5. Add flour mixture to applesauce mixture, mix until well blended
6. Add morsels and mix until blended
7. Round a heaping Tbsp into a ball and then press flat into a cookie shape. Place on greased baking pan
8. Repeat until you have made 15 cookies
9. Bake for 12 minutes or until firm.
Allow to cool and enjoy. Sadly serving size is only one! And I recommend only enjoying 3 times a week although it will be hard!
